Plain-language guides to trading accounts, rebates and trading terms

XS overview

XS Group describes itself as a fintech and financial services provider with several legal entities. This page summarises what XS publishes on its own English site, checked on 2026-10-13: the company, the account groups, dynamic leverage and the sign-up steps.

Details about regulation, accounts and leverage can differ by company and by where you live. Confirm them on the sign-up screen and in your contract. Leveraged trading carries a high risk of loss.

Is XS a single company?

BlueSnyaiper

XS describes a group with several legal entities. Its regulation page names regulators for some entities, but not all. Check the sign-up screen and contract to identify your contracting entity.

The company and its regulation entries

XS says XS Ltd offers its services and products under the name www.xs.com in some jurisdictions where this does not breach local laws and rules. Its regulation page says XS Ltd is registered under the law of Seychelles, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) there, and holds licence number SD089. It also lists other regulated group companies.

  • Several companies. The regulation page names several regulated group companies. The footer shows further XS entities registered elsewhere, and for two of them no regulator is named.
  • Your contract may be with a different company. The public pages do not say which XS company a given reader contracts with. It can depend on where you live. Check it on the sign-up screen and in the contract.
  • Compensation schemes differ. XS says investor compensation rules depend on which XS company you trade with.
  • Not served everywhere. XS says it does not serve residents of some jurisdictions, and that its information is not meant for people where it would breach local rules.

How many kinds of accounts does XS have?

BlueSnyaiper

XS lists Preferred (Standard, Cent, Micro), Professional (Pro, Elite, VIP), Partners and Copy Trading. Partners accounts are aimed at partners, so this site does not treat them as an option.

  • Preferred: Standard, Cent and Micro. XS describes Preferred as its most popular group, for new and experienced people who want to trade without a minimum deposit.
  • Professional: Pro, Elite and VIP. XS says it is for experienced traders who want to keep trading costs low.
  • Partners: Classic, Extra and Plus. XS says these suit partners who offer services to clients in return for higher rebates, so this site does not cover them.
  • Copy Trading: Copy Standard and Copy Pro, both on MetaTrader 5 only. Not covered here.

The XS account types page compares the Standard, Cent, Micro, Pro, Elite and VIP accounts in one table. Source: XS account types (checked 2026-10-13).

How leverage works at XS

Kocchan

Does XS give 1:2000 leverage on everything?

BlueSnyaiper

No. XS shows 1:2000 as the maximum for dynamic leverage. The ratio falls as your open lots or your equity grow, and some instruments have fixed leverage. XS warns that margin trading can result in the loss of all your capital.

XS says dynamic leverage adjusts automatically, based either on the lots you hold or on your account equity. It describes it as up to 1:2000. XS offers two models.

  • Lot-based. Leverage falls as the number of open lots grows. XS's lot-based leverage page says this model is available on MetaTrader 4 and 5, excluding Cent and Micro. Its account pages contain conflicting descriptions, so confirm which model applies to your account. XS calculates it per instrument, on the net lots held in that instrument.
  • Equity-based. Leverage falls as account equity grows. For now it is on MetaTrader 5 only. XS names these accounts with the ending EQ, for example Standard EQ. Lot-based accounts end in LT.
  • Fixed leverage. XS lists instruments with fixed rather than dynamic leverage, such as natural gas, shares, commodity futures, some stock indices and some crypto.

The 1:2000 figure is a maximum shown, not a ratio you get on every instrument or at every level. XS's own pages are not fully consistent on which accounts the lot-based model covers, so check the current page for your account.

Higher margin requirement (HMR) periods. XS lists these: from 15 minutes before to 5 minutes after major economic releases, from 2 hours before the Friday market close, the first hour of each instrument's Monday trading and before early closes on holidays. The higher requirement applies to orders opened in those periods, not to positions held before. During an HMR period, you may be unable to close one side of a hedged position if the remaining position would have insufficient margin.

How registration works

  1. Fill in the form. The registration page asks for first name, last name, country of residence (chosen from a list), phone number with country code, email address and a password of at least 8 characters, then the Register Now button.
  2. Confirm the declarations. There are two tick boxes. One agrees to XS's policies and terms. The other is a declaration about citizenship and tax residency status.
  3. Confirm your email. XS sends a code to the email address you entered. Enter the code sent to your email address to confirm. The page also provides a Resend Code option.
  4. Register, fund, trade. XS summarises its process as three steps with those headings. The pages we checked do not describe each step.

Depending on your country of residence, the registration screen can show a different notice that you must confirm before you continue. Read it carefully. The pages we checked do not describe identity documents or review times, so confirm those with XS. Source: XS registration page (checked 2026-10-13).

Risk and how this site is funded

  • Risk. XS's own warning says all trading carries a high risk, that you can lose capital, that its products are traded on margin and that you can lose all of it. They are not suitable for everyone.
  • Costs. A product with no commission still has costs, such as the spread. See What is spread.
  • Referral. Links to XS on this site are referral links. If you open an account through one, the operator of this site may receive compensation from XS. The amount is not disclosed here.

Nothing on this page is investment advice or a recommendation to trade.

Which XS company will I be with?

The public pages do not say. XS has several group companies, and the one you contract with can depend on where you live. Check the sign-up screen and the contract, and see the XS regulation page.

What is the maximum leverage at XS?

XS shows 1:2000 as the maximum for dynamic leverage on its main account pages. The ratio falls as open lots or equity grow, and some instruments have fixed leverage, so the figure is not available everywhere.

What do I need to register?

The form asks for your name, country of residence, phone number, email address and a password, then a confirmation code sent to your email. Your country of residence can change the notices you see.

Is XS available in every country?

No. XS says it does not serve residents of some jurisdictions, and that its information is not meant for people where it would breach local rules. Check the regulation page and the laws that apply to you.
